Bessent predicts low inflation growth for the US in 2026

Ekonom terkenal Scott Bessent memprediksi bahwa Amerika Serikat kemungkinan akan mengalami pertumbuhan ekonomi yang kuat namun inflasi tetap rendah pada 2026. Menurut Bessent, faktor seperti harga energi yang diperkirakan turun, kebijakan fiskal dan moneter yang bijaksana, serta pengaturan pasar yang stabil, bisa membantu menjaga inflasi tetap terkendali sambil mendorong ekonomi tumbuh.

Prediksi ini tentu menjadi perhatian investor, karena inflasi adalah salah satu indikator utama bagi Federal Reserve (The Fed) dalam menentukan kebijakan suku bunga. Inflasi rendah biasanya membuat The Fed tidak agresif menaikkan suku bunga, sehingga biaya pinjaman tetap rendah dan mendorong konsumsi serta investasi. Namun, Bessent juga menekankan bahwa faktor eksternal seperti konflik geopolitik atau kenaikan harga energi bisa mengubah perkiraan ini.

Dampak prediksi inflasi rendah terhadap emas (XAU/USD) cenderung positif. Karena emas tidak memberikan imbal hasil, suku bunga rendah membuat memegang emas lebih menarik dibanding menyimpan uang di bank atau obligasi. Selain itu, inflasi rendah biasanya menekan Dolar AS, dan harga emas dalam USD pun cenderung naik. Dengan kata lain, investor yang mencari safe haven kemungkinan akan kembali melirik emas sebagai aset pelindung kekayaan.

Secara ringkas, prediksi Bessent menunjukkan skenario di mana ekonomi AS tetap sehat, inflasi terkendali, dan emas bisa menguat karena daya tariknya sebagai lindung nilai tetap tinggi. Investor disarankan tetap memantau rilis data inflasi dan kebijakan The Fed, karena perubahan kecil di ekonomi bisa berdampak signifikan pada harga logam mulia ini.
